Dessert Delight ~ Star Wars

Dessert Delight is described as a sweet dessert popular on the Lianna planet, in the Outer Rim Territories. It is a pastry with a chilled creamy center in a thin pastry crust that is deep fried to crisp up the pastry shell. The only difference is I baked mine.

Filling:
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
4 cups milk

 Dough:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 eggs

You will need:

Mix together vanilla instant pudding mix, cream and milk.
Cover and refrigerate to set.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

In a large pot, bring water and butter to a rolling boil.

Stir in flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball.

Using a wooden spoon or stand mixer, beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.

I made mine small. You can double the size if you wish.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown.
Turn a fan on the suck out the heat or open a window. Many household fire alams go off if there is a lot of heat in the room.

Centers should be dry. Here is a photo so you can see the bottoms.

When the shells are cool, either split and fill them with the pudding mixture, or use a pastry bag to pipe the pudding into the shells.
I used a piping bag, it has seen better days. But a zip lock bag with a corner cut off will work just the same.

Melt some chocolate in the microwave or a double boiler and once cooled and filled, dredge though the chocolate.
You can also roll in powdered sugar.

Yum!
