Pineapple Sundae's, The Twisted Nether and Nat Pagle.

Listen to my interview on Twisted Nether Blogcast.
Where I talk about food, raiding and my loathing of Nat Pagle.
Make yourself my favorite ice cream sundae and enjoy!
This pineapple/ginger snap sundae will now be known as:
 The Twisted Nether Sundae

You will need:
4-5 Ginger snap cookies (crushed)
2 Pineapple rings (grilled)
I don't have a grill so I browned the pineapple in a pan on the stove.
You want to heat it long enough for it to start to brown and caramelize, about 3 minutes.

Place crushed cooking in a sundae dish.
Scoop vanilla ice cream on top.
Place warm caramelized pineapple in top.
Garnish with whipped topping and a cherry if desired.

Yum!

Root Veggie Stew ~ World of Warcraft

3 large potatoes (cubed or use smaller potatoes)
3 large carrots (sliced)
2 onions (sliced)
2 green peppers (sliced)
French onion soup mix
4 cups water
2 chicken breasts (shredded)
I sliced the carrots, potatoes, onions and green peppers. Tossed them with olive oil or butter and spread out on a cookie sheet and roast them in the oven for 45 minutes.
Don't skip this step, it takes awhile but oh so delicious!
I baked the chicken in the oven until thoroughly cooked. Let cool. Shred.
Add 4 cups of water with the packet of onion soup mix.
Add chicken, veggies and bring to a boil.
Reduce to simmer for 30 minutes.
I know, adding chicken to beef broth base.
We're crazy here at The Gamer's Fridge kitchen.
Yum!
I will roast veggies before I make any soup or stew. This was the most amazing stew.

Bannock ~ Lord of the Rings

They taste like very dense biscuits.

This is what Hobbits would make while traveling. They are quite dense and filling and you do not need to give them time to rise. Which is convenient  while on an adventure. They can be cooked over an open fire in the outdoors or in an oven. (If you happen to find a comfy bed to sleep in.) They scorch easily when pan cooking but if you ladle meat gravy over them, your mates will never know.

You will need:

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons baking powder
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 1/2 cups water
(optional) add a cup of dried fruits or nuts for a different flavor

Measure flour, salt, and baking powder into a large bowl. Stir.

Pour melted butter and water over flour mixture. Stir with fork to make a ball.

Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface, and knead gently about 10 times.

Pat into a flat circle 3/4 to 1 inch thick.

Cook in a greased frying pan over medium heat, allowing about 10 minutes for each side.

Use a spatula for turning.

May also be baked on a greased baking sheet at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes.

Yum!

Red Bean Cake ~ Guild Wars

1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 1/4 cups white sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 cups milk
1 (18.75 ounce) can sweetened red bean paste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

In a large bowl, mix together the butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and milk.

Stir in the rice flour and baking powder.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan.

Drop red bean paste by scant teaspoonfuls onto the top of the cake.

This is the red bean paste I used. I bought it off amazon.com
If spoonfuls are too big, the filling will sink to the bottom.

Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until cake springs back when lightly touched.
Flip it out of the cake pan.
Let cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Yum!

Poached Salmon ~ Warcraft

I ran across several exotic recipes for poached salmon. This recipe is a basic recipe, feel free to "spice it up" according to your tastes.

You will need:
Salmon
water
salt & pepper

Using a large flat pan, bring water to a slow simmer.
Add salmon fillets. Add more water if you need to, the water should just cover the fish.

Leave at a slow simmer for 10 minutes.

Remove fish from water and pat dry with a paper down.
Add salt and pepper to taste.

Yum!

Hell-Hoot Barbecue ~ WoW

You will need:

Chicken breast, boneless skinless

1/2 c your favorite barbecue sauce
1 tbs buffalo wing sauce
2 tbs soy sauce
1 tbs lemon juice
1/2 tsp garlic
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Pour over chicken.
Cut up an onion and place around chicken.

Bake in oven for 35-45 minutes. Until cooked throughout.
It was quite spicy, if you are not into that much spice then cut back on the cayenne pepper.
I cut it in half and put it on a salad. Makes a tangy delicious addition.

Who says owls aren't delicious. Yum!
