Dalaran Brownie

1 stick (1/2 cup) (120 g) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup (100g) sugar
1 tsp (5 ml) pure vanilla extract
1/4 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1/8 tsp (1 ml) salt
1 tbs (15 ml) red food coloring
1 tsp (5 ml) white distilled vinegar  (did not have any vinegar so I substituted lemon juice.)
2 large eggs
1cup (120g) flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.(175 degrees C) and grease pan.

In medium bowl, combine melted butter with sugar and mix well.  Add vanilla, cocoa powder, salt, food coloring, and vinegar in that order, mixing between additions.

Whisk in the eggs one at a time, mixing well between each.  Fold in the flour.

Bake for 30 minutes in preheated oven and cool completely before cutting into squares.

  2. WOW! These came out so well. I've made things before with red food coloring and they usually taste bitter, these didn't taste bitter at all. They taste amazing and look the part perfectly!!!
