Strawberry Shortcake ~ Castlevania

You will need:

Biscuit:
2 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
4 tbs butter
3/4 c milk

Whipped topping:
heavy cream or Cool Whip

Strawberry filling:
strawberries
strawberry glaze (optional)
Glaze comes in plain and sugar free

Mix dry ingredients together.

 Add butter and milk.

Place on cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees F for 12-15 minutes.
Until golden brown.

Let cool.

Slice strawberries into bite size pieces.

This is the optional step. I put the strawberries into a strawberry flavored glaze.

Add the whipping cream into a mixer.
Place on high speed for 3-5 minutes. Until stiff peaks form.

 After one minute.

 After 4 minutes.
I add a tsp of vanilla extract to the whipped topping.
I think it adds a bit for flavor without adding sugar.

Slice biscuit in half.

Place strawberries.

Add whipped topping.
(Homemade, good job!)

Put top back on biscuit. Yum!

Ice Cream - Castlevania

You will need:

1 c milk
1/2 c sugar
1/2 tsp flavoring
( I used butter rum, pick your favorite.)
2 seal-able bags

Combine milk, sugar and flavoring.
Stir.

Check the bag for leaks by filling it with air, sealing it and applying pressure.
Pour milk into bag.
(I don't buy ziploc bags. I reuse bread bags. I try to save money and be green.)

Tie securely.

Add ice cubes and salt to the second bag,
The more ice cubes the better.
I happened to have rock salt but table salt will work just as good.

Place the ice cream bag inside the salt and ice cube bag.

Tie securely.
Wrap in a towel, it is very cold.

Now shake it gently for 10-20 minutes

Here is a video to watch while you shake.
