Bat Bites

This is another fun food for a Hallow's End Party!

You will need:

1 pound of pork, beef or chicken, cubed (I used pork)

4 bamboo skewers

1/4 cup flour

salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons butter

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup water

Salt and pepper the pork to taste.

Spear the pork pieces on the bamboo skewers and roll in flour.

Melt the butter in a pan on medium heat and add the pork.

Cook for 5 minutes on each side until browned. If you are using pork make sure you cook it thoroughly.

 Remove bat bites from pan and remove pan from heat. Let the pan cool for a 3 minutes.

While the pan is cooling, combine the 1/4 cup flour, 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 c water; stir.

Add mixture to warm skillet. 

Using a whisk to stir the mixture and the small pieces of meat on the bottom of the pan. Whisk until sauce thickens.

Add Bat Bites back into the sauce and coat. Warm if needed. I serve mine with rice and some steamed veggies.

Who know Bat Bites could be so yummy.

For a fun Hallow's End Party finger food, omit the sauce and leave them plain. 

Worm Delight

Worm Delights, These would be great for a Halloween or Hallow's End party Click the link to see some ideas.

You will need:
8 pack of hot dogs
tube of croissants (there are 8 per tube)
8 slices of cheese
8 slices of bacon

Roll out the croissants and place the cheese on them. I fold the cheese in half first so it stays on the croissant.  I used Swiss and American.

Cook the bacon according to package directions. You want to keep a close eye on it & pull it out before it browns. If it browns, it won't be pliable to wrap around a hot dog.

Wrap warm bacon around hot dog.

Then place on croissant and roll.

Bake for 15-20 minutes.
