Herb Baked Egg

This recipe is one of the first recipes you get as a new cook. No more boring breakfasts around Ironforge anymore. The dwarves will line up outside bars to get this. (Of course they eat breakfast in bars. Where else would they wake up?)

You will need:

muffin pan
1 egg for each person you are cooking for
1 slice of bread for each person
1 thinly slice of ham or bacon for each person (I cubed up some ham)
butter
shredded cheese
basil

Grease each muffin section with butter or a spray.

Cut each piece of bread into a square and butter it. Make sure the corners point up.
Put each piece of bread into the muffin pan. It will act like a pocket.

It is OK if some of the egg is touching the pan, if you greased it well, it will come right off.

Lay the ham on top of the butter bread.

Crack egg and place on ham. Sprinkle some basil on too and a bit of cheese.

Bake until eggs are set to your liking. Average time is 15 minutes. Give the pan a slight shake, if there is jiggle. Then the egg is no set and will run when you cut it.

  5. Made them this morning with dill instead of basil, and they were VERY tasty. It's the new go-to breakfast. :D I also shared the recipe with some friends, so hoping they'll make some recipes, too! :)

Trying to get the future hubby to let me make Beef Stew so I can make Lembas bread with it, next.
