Penny's Pumpkin Pancakes

My daughter Penny loves pumpkin pancakes but we have had a shortage of pumpkins here in Elwynn from the frostbite last season. I have heard of a new pumpkin patch north of Stormwind that might be ripe for the picking now though. Head out and harvest a few of those ripe pumpkins for me and let’s see what we can do.
You will need:

1 1/2 c milk
1 c canned pumpkin
1 egg
2 tbs butter, melted
2 c flour
3 tbs brown sugar
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp all spice (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger

Mix dry ingredients, (flour, brown sugar, baking soda, all spice, cinnamon & ginger).

Add milk, egg, butter and pumpkin.
Mix.

Drop by spoonful onto flat pan for griddle.
Cook until edges bubble.

Flip.

Serve with syrup, butter or a little powdered sugar.

Yum!

Essence Mango and Tel'Abim Banana Bread ~ World of Warcraft

I'm stepping outside the box today.
I was feeling a bit nostalgic and still had a few Essence Mangoes around.
The mango was given out by the Zandalar Tribe when you reached the appropriate reputation. (I have great refrigeration.)  I had a expert frost mage enchant my crisper in exchange for my Pandarian Red Salad recipe. It's one of my Mists of Pandaria expansion ideas so it is not available in game yet.
The Tel'Abim Banana is abundant on Azeroth and can be found almost anywhere.

You will need:
1 1/2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
3 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 cup mashed bananas (2 bananas)
1 mango, peeled and mashed

 Add all ingredients and mix.
 Mix well.
Add to greased bread loaf pan.
Sprinkle top with 1 tbs sugar
Bake in 350 degree oven for 30-45 minutes. Until knife inserted into center comes out clean.
Let cool for 10 minutes then remove from pan.
 Slice. Serve.
 Yum!

Poached Salmon ~ Warcraft

I ran across several exotic recipes for poached salmon. This recipe is a basic recipe, feel free to "spice it up" according to your tastes.

You will need:
Salmon
water
salt & pepper

Using a large flat pan, bring water to a slow simmer.
Add salmon fillets. Add more water if you need to, the water should just cover the fish.

Leave at a slow simmer for 10 minutes.

Remove fish from water and pat dry with a paper down.
Add salt and pepper to taste.

Yum!

Hozu Stir Fry ~ World of Warcraft

The hozen are a monkey-like race that lives in Pandaria.
They are mischievous pranksters native to Pandaria that "act like a group of 14 year old boys" running around together in the jungle, equipped with machine guns and weapons from the Horde, who will recruit this tribe to help fight their war. They are also found all over Pandaria, even in one of the dungeons. -wowpedia

You will need:

4 bananas, sliced
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp ginger
4 tbs butter
2 tbs soy sauce
2 c chicken stock
2 cooked chicken breasts, shredded
sliced green onions

In a pan melt butter & add bananas, garlic, ginger, soy sauce & onions.

Saute until bananas are soft.

Add chicken stock (or water) and bring to a simmer for 10 minutes.
Until thickens.

Cook rice according to package directions. Add cooked chicken and vegetable.
(I used peas but any can be substituted.)
Pour sauce over rice, chicken and vegetables. Stir.

Yum!

Kimchi ~ World of Warcraft

I understand this is not traditional Kimchi but I am Hungarian & Irish. I believe all vegetable should be cooked in butter & fermentation belongs in a keg.

This is a Hungarian recipe called Haluska, it is what I think of when someone mentions cooking cabbage. If you are familiar with making Kimchi, I'd love to see your recipe.

My pictures came out poopy. My digital camera made an unforgiving crunching noise then refused to work anyone. I took these with my phone & its a phone not praised for its camera quality.
Hopefully a digital camera is in the budget and I can re take these.

You will need:

1 (8 ounce) package egg noodles
3 tbs butter
1 onion, chopped
1 small head cabbage, chopped
(I used red cabbage, any color will do.)
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat.
Stir in the egg noodles; return to a boil.
Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the noodles are cooked through, but still firm to the bite, about 5 minutes.

Chop up the cabbage and onion.

Place the onion into the skillet with butter, and cook and stir over medium heat until the onion begins to soften, about 2 minutes.
Stir in the cabbage, and cook and stir until wilted, about 15 minutes.

Stir in the noodles, and continue cooking just until heated through.

Blurry, Yum!

Goldshire Pudding ~ World of Warcraft Expansion Idea

"What Happens in Goldshire, stays in Goldshire."

I can see this as a daily cooking quest in Stormwind.

-Collect 3 eggs and a bag of flour. Quest reward is a goblin engineered slot machine that for 5 silver you can pull the handle and get the chance at willing a prize.
The prizes? I dunno, What do you think would make a great prize?

You will need:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
3 eggs, room temperature
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup beef drippings

Mix flour and salt together until blended.

Make a well in the flour, add the milk, and whisk until consistent.
Beat the eggs into the batter.

Add water and beat again until the mixture is light and frothy.

Pour drippings into a 9x12 inch baking dish and place into the oven until the drippings sizzle.

Pour the batter over the drippings and bake for 30-45 minutes (or until the sides have risen and are golden brown). It will puff up, nicely.
Cut into eight portions and serve immediately.

Yum!

This was delicious!  It smelled like a fresh loaf of bread and a roast beef cooking at the same time.  Wonderful!  I served it with the roast beef I got the drippings from, a vegetable and a salad. It looks funky but I assure you, you won't be disappointed.
