Uj'alayi Cake ~ Star Wars The Old Republic

Uj'alayi Cake  - This is one of the most popular exports of Mandalore. Uj'alayi, or uj cake, is a dense cake made of ground nuts, pureed dried fruit, sweet uj'jayl syrup, and spices. It is a very sweet dessert.

You will need:

Cake:

3 c flour
1 c sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1c pureed banana
1 tsp salt
3 tbs butter
1 c milk
1 egg
1/2 c raisins
1/2 cup walnuts

Syrup:

1 cup water
2 c sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbs lemon juice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

I smashed the banana's into a pulp, add a tablespoon of milk to soften it.

Add butter. Add flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and milk.
Mix.

Stir in raisins and walnuts.

Pour into greased cake pan. Bake for 35 minutes until toothpick into center comes out clean.

Let cake cool.

Syrup:

Add water, sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon.
Bring to a boil and boil for 15 minutes.
Remove from heat and add vanilla.

Spoon over cake, serve.

I stored the rest of the syrup in an empty coffee creamer container.

Cactus Apple Surprise ~ World of Warcraft

You will need:

And six pretty apples.

6 medium apples
1 cup orange juice
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup crushed walnuts, toasted
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup honey

Remove a 1/2-inch slice from tops of the apples.
With a melon baller or a spoon remove core, stopping about 1/2 inch from the bottom of the apple.

In a medium bowl combine oats, brown sugar, almonds, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Stir in softened butter until combined.
Arrange the prepared apples in a baking dish

Fill and top apples with oat mixture.

When ready to bake, pour remaining orange juice around the apples and cover with foil.

Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 50 minutes.

Check them at 30 minutes and again at 45.

I baked them for 50 minutes and I baked them too long.
You can see they started falling apart.

Remove foil; bake for 10 to 15 minutes more or until tender.

Cool about 30 minutes.
Transfer to a platter or plates and drizzle with honey.
Server hot with ice cream or cold with vanilla yogurt.

I had neither, I am a sad panda.

Pandarian Red Salad ~ World of Warcraft Expansion Idea

You will need:

Salad:
4 c shredded red cabbage
1 c water chestnuts (optional)
1/2 c shredded carrots
2c green apples (chopped)
4 stalks celery (chopped)

Red cabbage looking pretty on the inside.

Dressing:
1/4 c soy sauce
1/4 c lemon juice
1/4 c orange juice
1/2 tsp grated ginger

Candied Walnuts:
1 c walnuts
1/2 c sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon

In a large bowl, toss together cabbage, water chestnuts, apples, celery and carrots.

Whisk together soy sauce, lemon juice, orange juice and ginger; pour over cabbage mixture and toss together.
My husband didn't like the "dressing" so I kept it separate.
Two teaspoons was plenty per bowl.
Sprinkle with candied walnuts.

To make candied walnuts, place 1 cup walnuts and 1/2 cup sugar in a skillet over medium heat.

Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves and turns light brown.
I have to add a bit of liquid to the mixture to get it to stick to the walnuts.

Toss to coat walnuts. Remove skillet from heat; stir in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Allow to cool before adding to salad.
Store in a seal-able container.

Yum!

TGF: I'd like to thank Priestess Tyrande Whisperwind for meeting with me. I always feel in awe whenever I step foot into the Temple, it is so beautiful here.

Tyrande: It's a please to have you here. You represent our night elves with honor and strength.
The Gamer's Fridge is very popular around here.

Malfurion: The Gamer's Fridge? Are you the one who got Garrosh all up in arms over his lemon squares.
Hahahaha. That made being referred to as "Antler McBeardly face" worth it, I think I could hear his great mother screaming at him from Ogrimmar.

TGF: Thank you so much Shan'do Stormrage I am a huge fan of yours, It's why I began my journey as a drui...

Tyrande: Ahem....Malfurion hasn't eaten much in the last 10,000 years. I'm afraid his knowledge in the kitchen is very limited.
